Life in the time of Corona – Captain’s log: Day 273

After a busy long moving weekend, I can finally spend one day sitting all day, aka, working.

It’s hard to scrape together enthusiasm for a computer screen if there are so many other things I’d like to sort out, but I keep reminding myself that I’m going to live here for a while and there will be time for it all.

Suddenly I feel less guilty about my stash of sewing stuff, because at least I’ll have something to keep me busy on my vacation days when I can’t go anywhere and I can’t buy any more supplies!

Today we had a little end of year social for the team of work friends who started the year working full time on the same project. It was nice to catch up with them socially and to see how everyone’s life is going. My first mentor taught me that you spend more time with your colleagues than your family (except during wfh times) and in a sense these people became my other family, especially when I was new here. They even showed me how the office coffee machines work!

Be kind. Stay safe.
