Life in the time of Corona – Captain’s log: Day 199

I think it’s fair to say that autumn is underway in all honesty. The weather is a bit is crisp and wet, and the leaves are turning all the beautiful shades of yellow and gold.

We decided to use the Saturday to do some more sightseeing; this time in Alkmaar.

I don’t know what I expected, but somehow it wasn’t this. Every time I see an old city or town in the Netherlands I’m somehow still surprised.

Due to the ongoing pandemic the famous cheese market isn’t open, but the normal Saturday Market was, and it was lovely to see the local people going about their business.

We picked up some really special chocolates as a gift, and then we walked by an old sweet shop/museum that claims to have been open since the job 16th century!

Either way it was a charming experience and I truly enjoyed it.

Be kind. Stay safe
